Welcome to Lausanne Care and Counsel as Mission |
||||||||
We are Christian counselors, lay workers, pastors, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and other caregivers who are working together within the Lausanne movement to advance a new paradigm for the role that “care and counsel” can have in the task of sharing the whole gospel with the whole world. This new paradigm includes the important and well-established work of member care which involves providing aid to Christian missionaries and workers but is broader than it. Care and counsel as mission seeks to encourage a compassionate and skilled response in Jesus’ name to all those who are suffering and wounded. The LCCMIG is guided by a “three circle paradigm” of human need where the smallest of the three circles is member care, the next larger circle is care and counsel for all Christians and the biggest circle is addressing the psychosocial needs of all people. |
